The Payne County Hoof to Hook Youth Steer Feedout & Carcass Contest is designed to educate and empower youth in all aspects of beef production; from pasture to plate. Participants gain real-world experience in feed efficiency, carcass evaluation and industry standards while developing decision-making skills essential to today’s beef industry. 

The contest will conclude with an awards ceremony at the 2026 Cattlemen’s Banquet in October, where participating youth will be recognized for their commitment, performance and growth throughout the project.
