Join us for an engaging program on the history of popcorn, tracing its origins from ancient Indigenous cultures of the Americas to its place as a modern snack staple. The presentation will explore how corn suitable for popping was cultivated thousands of years ago, how popcorn was used in ceremonies and everyday life, and how it later became popular at fairs, movie theaters, and homes across the United States. Participants will also learn how advances in agriculture and food science helped shape today’s popcorn varieties, connecting history, culture, and nutrition in a fun and accessible way. Please call to register to attend. (580)371-3006
