Join us for the Food Microbiology Workshop at FAPC, where industry experts will delve into the intricacies of ensuring food safety through microbiological analysis. Over two days, participants will engage in comprehensive sessions covering various aspects of food microbiology, from regulatory compliance to practical laboratory exercises.
Day 1 starts with registration and a warm welcome, followed by participant introductions to foster networking and collaboration. The morning sessions focus on foundational knowledge, including a comprehensive overview of food microbiology and discussions on sanitation practices and microbial verification.
As the day progresses, participants will dive into the regulatory landscape, exploring USDA and FDA regulations alongside microbial testing methods endorsed by these agencies and AOAC. The afternoon sessions shifts toward practical skills, covering microbial sampling techniques, pathogen testing considerations, and hands-on laboratory exercises.
Day 2 delves deeper into foodborne pathogens and regulations, with focused discussions on Salmonella, L. Monocytogenes, and STEC E.coli. Attendees will also explore spoilage microorganisms and rapid testing methods, including immunodiagnostic tests, magnetic bead enrichment, and PCR.
