Beginning Farmer Workshop: Tools & Strategies for Oklahoma Vegetable Producers

Spend the day with OSU Extension specialists and researchers learning practical tools to strengthen your vegetable operation or get started as as a beginner. Sessions will cover Extension resources for producers, cover crop strategies, and post-harvest management. In the afternoon, we’ll travel to the Cimarron Valley Research Station for live demonstrations of scale-appropriate tools and season-extension technology, then return to the Botanic Garden to focus on soil health, pest prevention, irrigation, and input management. The day will close with simple spreadsheets and checklists to help with seed starting, top-performing cultivars, food safety, and equipment planning.
